Tiggiano

The town of Tiggiano is part of the province of Lecce and by 2006 much of its territory is part of Costa Otranto Park-Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase established by the Puglia region to safeguard the east coast of Salento rich in architectural heritage and important animal and plant species. Among the monuments worthy of being mentioned include the baronial palace Serafini-Sauli which is a palace Seicentesco in which there is currently the headquarters of City Hall, the Church of Sant'Ippazio located at the center of the country in typical style with Baroque carved pilasters topped by various decorative motifs in high relief and the Tower Nasparo which served as fortification and defense side of the Sea dates back to 1500, during the Spanish domination.
