Patu'
Patù is a common Salento southern located a few kilometers from the head of Santa Maria di Leuca, in the province of Lecce. There is the construction of Centopietre, classified as a national monument. The name should come from the greek pathos that is suffering, pain, as ricorderebbe the sufferings of the city of Vereto, which was destroyed by the Saracens and from there was born in the country. In this territory, there are several important historical monuments and archaeological sites, such as archaeological site with the remains of the city of Vereto Messapian, the monument of Centopietre, the Church of St. John the Baptist and the church of St. Michael Archangel.
